Washington, DC Chapter News

The Washington, DC, area chapter of the NWU has been hosting twice-monthly Zoom meetings since early in the quarantine. In our September meetings, we have discussed the specifics of our AFL-CIO affiliation, along with an ongoing Virtual Help Desk feature on using GoogleDrive and GoogleDocs. And, as always, the publications and activism of our Chapter members were discussed.

We have just begun a fun new feature, live reveals of “What’s In the Box.”  When the UAW returned six boxes to the NWU after the disaffiliation, the DC Chapter was tasked with collecting them from their national office.  A highlight, this poster — in fair condition (with several creases from folding) — promoting NWU membership and copyright protection.  It can be yours for a small donation to the NWU.

Feel free to join us on October 10th at 10AM Eastern time, as Alexis Gunderso, member and activist in Freelance Solidarity Project —  an organizing and activist division of NWU.  She will tell us all about FSP, how to reach it on discord.org, and what to do once you’ve found it.  Here’s the Zoom link:
