NWU Members activist fiction writing workshop

Radical Elders (RE) invites you to a hybrid activist fiction writing workshop led by NWU members Juliana Barnet and Maritza Arrastia from the perspective that writing can be an effective and important form of activism. The workshop is part of RE’s National Elders Day of Action, to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 – 12:00 pm ET to 8:00 pm U.S. Eastern Time in person at New York City’s People’s Forum ( 320 West 37th Street (between 8th & 9th Avenues) New York, NY 10018) and on-line.

You can register to get the zoom link when we send it out: https://radicalelders.net/day-of-action-march-16/

The workshop will generate fiction/memoir stories by putting ourselves or a character in a moment or situation in the just world we envision for elders and all people. Writers can share stories orally on the day and publish them on the RE website.

The workshop is a full day of activities focused on just and sustainable lives for elders. Many activities will include “trigger actions” all participants can take together as an outcome of a specific session.
