I am a baseball author, editor, and historian and the foremost expert on the history of the Detroit Stars and the Negro Leagues in Detroit. I have written or contributed to many baseball books and Websites, including ESPN.com and Baseball Prospectus. I was the creator and editor-in-chief of the ESPN Baseball Encyclopedia and the executive editor of the ESPN Pro Football Encyclopedia as well as a contributor to the landmark encyclopedia Total Baseball.
