Chad Small is a freelance journalist, and PhD student in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington. His research interests focus on the impacts and dynamics of severe precipitation events in a changing climate. Chad’s journalist work – frequently centering on environmental justice, science policy, and potential responses to climate change – has been featured in The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Grist, Next City, and Gothamist. He holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from Yale University and a MS in Earth and Atmospheric Science from the City College of New York.
