The Croly award recognizes women whose work concerns the rights and advancement of women. Desired publications counteract sexism by showing women’s strength and courage.
Entries are welcome from all journalists who contribute to newspapers, magazines, broadcast news (radio, TV, or online), or other online publications. The last winner was freelance journalist Ada Calhoun for her NBCNews.com piece Pregnant on Opiates: When Following Doctors’ Orders Breaks the Law.
Your entry must be postmarked by March 15th. A winner will be notified by April 24th. Guidelines and the application form are available online.
The award will be presented in June 2017 at the GFWC Annual Convention in Palm Springs, California. The winner will receive $1,000 and have a chance to speak about their piece at the ceremony, travel expenses covered.
