In addition to our monthly reading and open mic, the Tucson chapter of the National Writers Union now presents the weekly broadcast, “Words and Work,” at 11:30 a.m. MST Sundays on Downtown Radio (99.1 FM), and streaming at downtownradio.org. NWU member Ted Prezelski serves as host.

The show explores issues around unions and writing. Guests have included David Hill (author of The Vapors and NWU 1st Vice-President); A. J. Flick (freelance journalist and former crime reporter for the Tucson Citizen); Fred Yamashita (executive director, Arizona AFL-CIO); Lydia Otero (historian and author), and the United Campus Workers of Arizona (CWA).

The show is recorded and archived as a podcast and can be found on Anchor, Breaker, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic and Spotify.
