Gift Membership

Empower someone else through a “Gift Membership” for a writer you care about.

Any writer can join NWU, even if they don’t have a byline, are a student, or just write as part of their normal job.

Benefits of membership include:

• FREE advice on publishing contracts from trained contract advisors who know the pitfalls and the ins and outs of getting the best publishing deal

• FREE grievance assistance to deal with deadbeat publishers

• Access group dental and vision insurance rates

• A PRESS PASS: we’re the only group offering the International Federation of Journalists press pass in the United States

• A page on our talent database, Find a Union Writer

• Ability to submit articles to our website and publicize work

Please select the number of gift codes you'd like to purchase from each category below. Our dues are determined on a sliding scale based on writing income. The left-hand column is how much the writer earns from writing annually. The right-hand column is how much dues are based on that income. Email membership@nwu.org with any issues regarding your gift membership.

Please enter your personal information below. After you complete and submit the form, you will receive a code for each gift you purchased.  The recipient of your gift will be able to redeem their code on the NWU site. The gift recipient will then be able to use the code to log into the NWU website as a member.
