Honoring the Life of Alec Dubro, Former NWU President

The National Writers Union mourns the loss and celebrates the life of Alec Dubro, a lifelong freelance writer who served as president of our union from 1987 to 1990. Alec passed away on January 1 in Washington, DC, where he and his wife, Kim Fellner, have lived since 1993.

“His time at the NWU was marked by organizational growth and crystalized his enduring commitment to the labor movement,” wrote Kim, who also served as NWU’s first Executive Director.
