I’d like to suggest that the NWU kick off a campaign for the membership to adopt a gentler writing lifestyle to help heal the planet. Please post in next newsletter:
How can writers adopt a gentler writing lifestyle?
Since the New York chapter is hosting a panel discussion in November on “Writing to Save the Planet,” we are asking members and friends to submit suggestions for changes in our writing lifestyle that does less harm and helps to heal the planet. Suggestions can be personal, or political.
A couple of examples are: Always purchase 100% recycled paper; print documents two-sided; when you receive a document that is printed on one side, use the blank side for printing personal-use documents. Purchase the electricity you use from a renewable source, if available. If you own your own house install solar panels. If you are in an apartment building, encourage the board to approve solar panels for the roof.
Please send your suggestions to NY co-chair Tim Sheard: sheard2001@gmail.com
Tim will collect the suggestions and post them in this newsletter.

But when Rachel Austin, a popular family practice physician, is brutally attacked, Lenny Moss must investigate, all too aware that a killer is roaming the hospital.
This 8thbook in the Lenny Moss mystery series continues the author’s portrayal of loving, hard-working hospital workers and their labor struggles with a greedy for-profit hospital management. He plans to pen two more in the series and end it at 10…
