27th Annual UAW Civil and Human Rights Dinner

Boston City Councilwoman and NWU member Lydia Edwards flanked by Yusef Salaam and Larry Goldbetter

On January 24, UAW Region 9A held it’s 27th Annual Civil and Human Rights Dinner in honor of the MLK Holiday. NWU was represented by Ekim Kilic, Julia Witter, Yusef Salaam, Larry Goldbetter and keynote speaker, Lydia Edwards. Edwards received the Benny-Thorntin Labor-Civil Rights Award.  Other award winners included the late Hector Figueroa, former president of 32BJ-SEIU, and workers who went out on strike this past year from GM, Stop & Shop, CAMBA and Harvard University.
